What is the Word Writers?
A concept to bring together local Australian and Christian authors and illustrators.
Is it a writers group?
No- The local Christian writers group based in Brisbane is called Omega Writers.
Is it run every year?
We will be looking for feedback as to whether or not a one day event each year would be useful for local Austalian and Christian writers.
Do I have to be a Christian writer to attend?
Not at all, while we will have a slant to focus on Christian writing, many of the authors and workshops have a focus on the general market. Most of the information at the event will uphold a Christian ethos, but not necessarily all focussing on Christians. We welcome anyone who is interested in the books and products that will be here.
Why do I pay registration?
Everyone pays a registration. This has a twofold aspect. One, it means we know how many people to expect for space, insurance, interest levels and so much more and it includes lunch and a free book.

Can I come for the evening awards without attending the fair?

A lot of the books being launched are produced by Wombat Books, are other publishers represented?
Yes. This event is being organised partially by Wombat Books. As such there are new titles that they will be launching. Other books from other authors are most welcome and we look forward to hearing from other publishers. A number of other publishers have been invited, however there are not many Brisbane based publishers. If you have a new book, are an author or a publisher and can make it to this event, please don't hesitate to contact us!
